Enabling or Disabling the "Participated" button
The Participated button can be found toward the top-right hand corner of the forum when you are logged into your forum account. When this button is clicked, a pop-up will display showing you a list of topics that you have posted in. The topic list here will be ordered from most recently updated to oldest. This list allows you to keep track of the topics that you have participated in recently to view when new responses have been made.
At any time, you can display or hide this button when you are logged into your member account depending on whether or not the feature is for you. To do this, click the Profile button located in the top menu bar of the forum, and then on your profile page click the Edit Profile button. You'll be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page; once here, click on the Settings tab. This takes you to the Forum Preferences page where you will find the Show Participated option at the top of the list. Set this to Yes if you want the participated button to display, or set this to No if you wish to make the participated button hidden. You should see your changes take effect after clicking the Save Account Settings button located at the bottom of the page.

Hiding forum signatures of other members
Forum signatures are found at the bottom of each post made on the forum, and can be customized by members by modifying their profiles. While signatures are a great way for members to add more personality to posts, it's understandable that they are not for everyone and that you may want to hide the signatures of members from being displayed to you.
If you want to hide the signatures of other members, log in to your forum account. Once you're logged in, click the Profile button found in the top menu bar and then on your profile page click the Edit Profile button. You'll then be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page; once here, click the Settings tab. You'll now be taken to the Forum Preferences page where the second option listed will be for Show Signatures. If you want the signatures to display at the bottom of each post that is made on the forum, set this to Yes. Otherwise if you do not want any signature to be displayed below posts made on the forum, set this option to No. Once you have made your settings, click the Save Account Settings button found at the bottom of the forum. The changes you made will take effect immediately afterward.

Enabling drafts for your posts
Users have a Drafts feature available to them, which periodically saves a temporary copy of a post you are writing as you are creating it. The benefit of having drafts enabled is that in the event that you accidentally leave the posing page before making your post, you will be able to restore the message that you were typing so that you can finish it rather than having to start all over again from scratch.
The way this works is if you begin to type out a post on the forum and leave the posting page, when you return to the topic a popup will appear letting you know that a recent draft that you were working on has been found. This pop-up will show a preview of the message that the system saved up to, and from there you can choose whether or not to restore the draft so that you can finish making your post. Keep in mind that only one draft is saved, and this feature is meant for emergency purposes to help restore the most recent post that you were working on as it's needed
To enable the drafts feature, click the Profile button found in the top menu bar of the forum, and then on your profile page click the Edit Profile button. You will then be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page for your account; once here, click on the Settings tab. When the page loads, you'll find the Enable Drafts located as the fourth option on the page. Set this to Yes and save the changes. Once this is done, drafts of your posts will be saved so that you can restore from them as they are needed.

Choosing your default posting editor
When you are composing a new post on a forum, you have two different editors to choose from to create the post with. The Preview Editor allows you to write your posts and add styles to it like you would when using a traditional word processor. This allows you to type out a message and add any styles to your post that you would like, and you will see all of the styles that you have selected appear in the message area so you can have a preview of what to expect when your post is made. The other editor that's available is called the BBCode Editor, which is a traditional message editor that's used in older forum software. The BBCode Editor allows members that are familiar with BBCode to stylize their posts using BBCode tags rather than getting a real preview representation of the style that you are attempting to add to your post.
You have the option to choose which editor you want to use as your default editor when composing new posts. To do this, click the Profile button found in the top menu bar, and then click the Edit Profile button when on your profile page. You'll then be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page, once here, click the Settings tab on the page. Next, look for the Posting Default option found about half-way down the page, simply click the Preview button or BBCode button depending on which editor you would like to use.
If you click the BBCode button, you'll notice a new option display for Default BBCode with a text box below it. Anything you type in this box will always appear when you load the posting page when using the BBCode mode. If you are someone that always wants your posts to appear in a specific color, or in a certain style, you can set those styles in this box here so that they will always be available to you when you go to create a new post, rather than having to manually set your post style each time you create a post.

Disabling smiley images from displaying in postsSmiley images are visual representations of text displayed in posts. For example, when you type : ) in a message, you will see a smiley image when the final post is created. This is the default setting, but you can change it according to your preference. To disable smiley images, click the Profile button (found in the top menu bar of the forum). From your profile page, click the Edit Profile button; this takes you to the Edit Profile & Settings Page. Once here, click on the Settings tab; near the bottom of the page, you'll find the option for Smiles Default. When this is set to Enabled, plain text like will convert to a smiley image. When set to Disabled, plain text in the post will not convert to smiley images. When you are finished, click the Save Account Settings button. This change takes effect immediately. Keep in mind that this is a personal setting that affects how posts are displayed to you when logged into your account. If you have smiles disabled in your profile, other forum members and guests may still see smiles in your post. To prevent others from seeing smiley images in new posts that you create, click the Insert Smiley BBCode button found above the message area, and in the drop-down menu that appears, click the Disable Smiles option. Then, plain text will not be rendered as a smiley image for anyone that views your post.
