Accessing a member's profile
While the mini-profile provided next to a member's post will provide some basic details of a member, it's possible that you may find out more about a member by checking out their full profile. Some details you can find out are: their latest forum status, the date and time they registered on the forum, what topics they have posted in recently, and who their forum friends are. How much info you're able to learn about a member ultimately depends on what the member has provided for public view.
There are a couple of different methods you can use to view the profile of another member on the forum. One way is to visit the Members page by clicking the Members button typically found at the top menu bar of the forum. You can then use the search function on the Members page to find the member whose profile you want to view. Once you have conducted your search, simply click on their name listed on the Members page and you will be taken to that member's forum profile.
Another way to view a member's profile is to look at the Users Online list found at the very bottom of the index page of the forum. From the member list there, you can click on any of the names displayed in the Users Online / Last 24 Hours list and you will be taken to the member's profile that you choose. Finally, if you're viewing a topic and see a post by a member who you want to learn more about, simply click on the member's display name provided next to their post.
Viewing profiles isn't just limited to viewing those of other members, you can also view your own profile as well. To do this, simply click on the Profile button provided in the top menu bar of the forum. Once you've accessed your own profile, you can view the details you have made public to other members, and will also have the ability to modify your own profile with the Edit Profile button.

Profile Summary and Status Updates
The profile summary page is the first page you will see when viewing your own or another member's profile. The summary page will display some of the basic details, such as a member's display name, username, avatar image, as well as their member group or rank.
If you're viewing your own profile, just below your display name and avatar image you will see a text box that says Enter your message here... followed by an Update Status button. This area allows you to update the status that other members can see about you. One example for this would be if you plan on being away from the forum for a few days, you could update your status to note that you won't be back until a certain day.
Below the status bar, it's possible that you may see some icons displayed on the page if the member has received any forum badges. Badges can be either obtained by yourself, or gifted to you by another member of the forum. The icons you see in a member's profile will typically be representative of the member's role on the forum. For example, if you often make humorous posts on the forum, it's possible that another member will gift you the comedian badge. You can click on the badge icons in a member's profile to view more details about the badge, and who the badge was gifted from. If a member does not have any badges just yet, no icons will display on the page.
Next on the page will be some additional details about the member whose profile you're viewing. Here you may see some of the following, depending on whether or not a member has chosen to make the info public:
Latest Status: This will be the most recent status update that a member has made. If a member has not provided a status update, this will appear blank.
Web Site: If a member has provided a link to a personal or favorite website, the link to the website will be displayed here.
Birthday: Members have the option to show the full birthday, only show month and day, or can opt to not share any birthday info. What you see here will depend on how the member has chosen to share their birthday info.
Age: If a member has opted to display their full birthday in their profile, their age will be displayed on the page. If the birthday or year of birth is not made public, their age will not show.
Location: If provided, you will see the location of the member here. This info can range from something as broad as a country or state, or could give details right down to the city that the member is from. The info displayed here depends on what the member has provided in their profile. If location info isn't provided by a member, this field will not show on their profile page.
Posts: The count provided here will be the member's total post count on the forum. This will indicate how active a member has been on the forum.
Date Registered: Here you'll see the date and time that the member originally registered their account on the forum. If you're viewing the profile of the main admin account, this also serves as the date and time that the forum was originally created.
Below the personal details above, you'll see a couple of links that are associated with the member's account:
View this member's recent posts: Clicking this link will bring you to a page where you can see all of the posts that the member has made on the forum.
View this member's recent threads: This link will take you to a page that will outline all of the threads that the member has created on the forum.
Lastly, if a member is following other members, or is being followed by other members, you'll see those members listed toward the right side of the summary page. Four random members will display in each section if there are more than four members following or being followed.

Viewing a member's forum activity
When visiting the profile of another member, you can see what the member has been up to recently on the forum from the Activity tab provided on the profile page. Some of the info you'll see here will let you know what topics the member has posted recently, what threads they have created recently, any profile updates, when they liked a post on the forum, and more. These items will be listed in order from most recent to oldest. If a member has an extensive activity history, you can click the Show More link at the bottom of the feed to load more activity.
If you're viewing your own activity page in your profile, you'll have a couple of different options that you won't see when viewing the activity of other members. The first difference is the status bar toward the top of the page allowing you to update your account status directly on the activity page. The status activity you post will be listed on your activity feed. Also, if for some reason you want to remove an activity from your own activity feed, simply hover over the activity mentioned in your feed that you want to have deleted, and then click the Delete link that appears to the right of the activity.

View activity of members you follow
When you follow other members on the forum, you have the ability to view their activity in your own profile. This can be done by clicking the Following tab provided on your profile page. This would allow you to stay up to date for when some of your favorite members have posted content on the forum, liked a post on the forum, changed their forum status, among other updates. The activity page will also tell you how many members you are following, and you can view the complete list of members that you are following by clicking the member count toward the top of the page.
You also have the ability to view the activity from those that other members of the forum are following as well. You can do this by visiting the profile page of a member, and then click the Following tab. Here you'll see the activity of all of the members that are being followed by the account, and you would also have the ability to view all of the accounts that are being followed by the member by clicking the number count toward the top of the page.

Friends are members that you follow that also follow you back. You can view who these members are by clicking the Friends tab on your profile page. Once there, you'll see a micro-profile view of your friends, as well as how many friends of those are currently online and offline on the forum. Lastly on the page you'll see recommendations of other members that you might be interested in following on the forum.
You can also view the friends of other members as well, simply by visiting their profile and then clicking the Friends tab on the page. Once there, you'll be able to see a list of friends that the member has on the forum, along with the same online / offline tally letting you know how many of them are currently active on the forum.

Checking your profile notifications
You can receive notifications based on various activity on the forum, such as when someone has quoted you in a topic, has tagged you in a post, likes a post you made on the forum, when someone follows you, and etc. The type of notifications you receive on the forum will be based on your own profile settings.
There are a couple of different ways to access your forum notifications. When you have a new notification, you will see a number appear in a bubble just above the Profile button on the forum. The number in the bubble indicates how many new notifications you have, and if you click directly on this bubble, you'll be automatically taken to the notifications page of your profile to view the notification activity. Otherwise if you do not have a new notification and would like to look back on past notifications you have received, visit your profile using the Profile button at the top of the page and then click on the Notifications tab.
The notifications page will show you the reason for the notification, typically accompanied by which member caused the action that you were notified about. Included will be the date and time that the notification took place. Most notifications have links associated with them, allowing you to click to see what exact post was liked by another member, be brought to the post that you were quoted in, and etc.
You can control the types of notifications that you receive by clicking the Edit Profile button on your profile page, and then click the Notifications tab.

Giving a gift
Forum gifts are a method you can use to show appreciation toward another member, or can be use for personal use if you're interested in the features provided. Gifts you can give or receive will range from ProBoards+ to forum badges.
ProBoards+ is a feature that gives you personal ad-free, allowing you to visit any ProBoards hosted forum free from the banner advertising that can usually be found at the top and bottom of forum pages. If you purchase ProBoards+ for yourself, a round PB+ badge icon will be displayed in your profile. You will also receive a special badge if you gift ProBoards+ to another member.
Badges are digital flair for your forum profile on ProBoards forums. There are some badges that you can gift to show appreciation to another member for how they contribute to the forum. For example, if the forum has a staff member that has gone above and beyond for you, you could gift them the Great Staff Member Badge, or if there is a member on the forum that you find humorous, you could gift them the Comedian Badge. There are also some general fun badges that you can use on the forum, such as the Pile of Snowballs Badge that will allow you to toss a snowball at another member of the forum, or you can play a game of Hot Potato with other members with the Hot Potato badge.
To give a member the gift or ProBoards+ or a forum badge, visit the profile of the member account that you want to give the gift to (or visit your own profile if you wish to have it yourself!). Once on the profile page, click on the Gift tab and you'll be taken to the gift page. If you want to give the gift of ProBoards+, click on the Purchase ProBoards+ button on the page. Otherwise you can click on the Visit Badge Store button to see a list of all of the badges that are available, and what actions they do. If you see a badge that you would like to gift, click on the shopping cart icon for the badge and then click the Go To Checkout button and you'll be taken to the checkout page to complete the gift purchase. After this is done, the gift will be immediately present for the member without any additional input from you.
